Course Details

Location: Stanley, ID
This course is open to 10 ski/snowboard and 5 motorized participants. Application deadline is January 15th.

Organized through a long standing partnership with Sawtooth Mountain Guides, this course is based out of Stanley’s small town center. The PRO 2 is a "combo" of motorized and human powered professionals. Field travel for this program takes place on snowmobiles and skis/splitboards in groups of 5 people. Classroom sessions will be held as one group. Students must be able to safely and effectively travel on skis/splitboard in variable backcountry conditions.

The classroom is a short drive to backcountry field locations and participants are encouraged to carpool each day. This is a time-intensive course and long days are expected.

Lodging and Food:
Lodging and food are not part of the course cost. There are several lodging and grocery options in the town of Stanley. Due to weather and road conditions, it is strongly advised that students stay in town. Ketchum is located approximately 60 miles away and can be difficult to access during snow storms. We recommend students work together to secure and share lodging in Stanley.
