Peak Mountain Guides Difference:
Our office is a short 15-minute drive from the top of Red Mountain Pass in the San Juan Mountains. It is the most idea location for an avalanche course in Colorado because it provides an enormous amount of variable terrain which is visible on the drive, on all aspects, with minimal approach time, plenty of steep options, and great powder skiing. It’s impossible to have the same terrain opportunities anywhere else in Colorado. Within 10-minutes from your vehicle you’ll be avalanche terrain.
Our AIARE qualified instructors are IFMGA or AMGA certified guides, avalanche forecasters, and ski patrollers who have been hand-picked for their depth of experience as professionals in the snow and avalanche industry. It is our goal to provide you with a thorough avalanche education that emphasizes safety, learning new skills, and having fun along the way.
In order to teach the required curriculum, most avalanche courses don’t incorporate the bigger picture of pulling it all together. But by hiring a certified ski guide after your course, you’ll see how a professional applies what you’ve just learned. You’ll have a real-life experience, identifying options, evaluating consequences, making observations, discussing and creating a plan, and skiing in world-class terrain. So, come skiing with us after your course! https://peakguides.com/backcountry-skiing-avalanche-courses/
