This PRO 2 class is based at Snowbird, UT for the first three days and at Ruby Mountain Heli for the remaining 3 days. Lodging and food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for the Ruby Mountain Heli portion are included in the course cost.
PLEASE NOTE: there is a travel/rest day on January 20th.
In order to interface with heli and cat operations at Ruby, this program runs at 4:1 ratio, i.e. eight students and two instructors.
The PRO 2 is an advanced professional avalanche course designed to continue the education of avalanche workers employed in ski areas, transportation, industry, ski and alpine guiding, and public forecasting centers. The course reviews best practices in avalanche risk management including data management and reporting, long term observation and documentation, risk reduction procedures, worker safety, and the development of strategies to limit the effect of bias and uncertainty on individual and team decisions.
